Violin, Piano

 

Maia is a Music Education Major at VCU studying under Susanna Klein. A Chesapeake native, Maia has extensive experience in music education and performing through opportunities with Hampton Roads Chamber Players, the Bay Youth Symphony Orchestra, and her Alma mater, Grassfield High School. 

 

Maia started the violin at age 8, and played piano throughout her childhood. In addition to commitments with VCU, Maia plays for her church’s worship band in Midlothian, honing improvisation and musicianship skills.

Maia is incredibly passionate about teaching skills in music that can be used for life and instilling a passion for music of all genres. She loves getting to build relationships with students and teaching them to be confident and assertive with their musical interests and talents.
